Well, Christmas is put away and things are looking a little plain around here, so I was thinking it might be nice to select a few new things to refresh a few spaces and get ready for spring. Perhaps it’s because it’s a cloudy day here in Michigan – I am thinking Green, Black and maybe a little wicker…. (which means the need for new planters and an accessory or two for my front porch and maybe some things for the garden area.)
Let’s Start with the Front Porch
The front door is the first thing people see when they arrive to your home (black is still the reigning color.) If yours seems a little tired, start thinking about a new coat of paint or maybe some new hardware. Swapping out old house numbers can be a game changer. Choose something simple and easy to read. Then add a new doormat, a mailbox, some pretty planters and whaaala!

Now it’s on to a Little Wicker!
This has been my inspiration pic for an outdoor dining situation for years …. the chairs are my favorite. Whether pared with a wood table as shown or mixed with black metal or even a concrete table …. I just love them. Unfortunately they have always been just a little out of reach – until now. I think I have found an option that is affordable and has the English Garden vibe that I love so much!
(sidebar… I’m envisioning a rattan tray with a stack of white plates waiting for grilled food to arrive, pretty flax linen napkins, fresh flowers and lots of votives. It’s snowing outside right now and 26 degrees…. but as I look at this picture it’s a PERFECT spring day lol.)

( this STAIR basket could be great inside for items that need to go upstairs or outside for front porch deliveries. And who doesn’t love a great umbrella stand complementing great baskets for under a console table in the entry or in the mudroom for storage. This aluminum bench would be a statement inside or out!)

Next Up – Fresh Linens
Nothing says a new season is here more than new bedding. Linen is a light airy way of ringing in the warm months with a cooler fabric. Besides offering a comfortable sleep, a lux topper gives your bed a magazine worthy look. A few new throw pillows and a great candle and it will feel like a brand new room.
